12 To Leave For National Teams’ Games
As everybody tries to forget the game against Palermo as soon as possible, all Juventus are currently resting on the first of the two days' break given to them by Claudio Ranieri after the hectic period that saw them play seven games in less than a month.
The team will resume training Wednesday morning in Vinovo, but the squad will not be at full ranks, because as many as 12 Bianconeri will be missing, having been called up by the various National teams for the World Cup qualifiers, the Under 21 European Championship Play-Offs and a friendly (involving the Swedish Under 21 team).
The 12 players missing will be: Buffon, Chiellini, Camoranesi, De Ceglie, Marchisio, Giovinco, Grygera, Manninger, Knezevic, Poulsen, Sissoko and Ekdal.
The list doesn't include Olof Mellberg, who underwent an ultrasound scan this morning together with Camoranesi. The Swedish defender was found to have an acute inflammation to his right thigh abductor muscle, but no muscle damage. Therefore the player won't be joining the Swedish team, as he wouldn't be able to recover in time for next Saturday's game against Portugal.
Camoranesi, on the other hand, has contracted his right thigh bicep muscle. Dr. Castellacci, the Italian team's doctor, was promptly informed about the result of the test. The player will still go to Italy’s training camp, alongside Buffon, who came out of the Palermo match with muscle fatigue, and Chiellini.
Both Mauro and Gigi will be visited by the Azzurri’s medical staff and only then will the decision be made whether they'll be staying with the squad for the two games Italy is set to play.
Here is the detailed schedule of all the games involving the Bianconeri.
