Youth Team Get Good Start In League
Maddaloni's team got a good start in the Youth League, defeating Livorno 1-0 on Day 1.
The match took place at the Chisola in Vinovo and it was very exciting and spectacular in the first half: the Bianconeri hit the cross-bar twice, first with Immobile and then Esposito. It was on this second shot that Daud scored the goal: the ball came back towards him after hitting the woodwork and his left-foot shot ended in the back of the net (24th minute).
It would remain the only goal of the match, but there was further excitement in the first half, including a Livorno goal that was disallowed and a chance for Rossi.
The second half was less lively, but there were two big chances around the half-hour mark, one for each team: Livorno's Sani forced a great save out of Pinsoglio, and Juventus' Rossi, finding himself alone in front of the opposing keeper, wasn't able to beat him, as the Tuscan saved.
In the final minutes of the game Juventus piled forward, and had their best chance with Duravia, but his shot was deflected again by the keeper. There was also a chance for Livorno almost at full time, but Pinsoglio made another great save and ensured victory.
