"We are motivated, it is an important match, a fundamental one for our future in the Europa League and in order to find confidence and we will face it with the right spirit and with great respect towards Shamrock Rovers". Del Neri cleared all doubts: notwithstanding the advantage thanks to the 0-2 result obtained in Ireland, Juventus will not underestimate the match against the Irish side and as if to underline the delicate match, the coach confirmed he will not make use of a turn over:
"It is not my habit to change much in a winning team. A lack of concentration would make me very angry but I think that the lads will have the right attitude because they know it is vital to give their best. Therefore, I expect a proof of character against a very physical team that can create problems for us. Relaxation is an enemy of football and a word we must abolish from our vocabulary".
"I usually give merit to the players who play a good match – continued Del Neri – and seeing that at the moment we are playing once every 8 days we have long recovery periods. In the championship, with closer encounters I will evaluate the physical condition of the players and therefore I will be able to give some the possibility to recover but I repeat it is not my custom to change. We have many players, who are all important and of great quality. It seems to me that the team that played in Ireland gives great guarantees and I want to give it reassurance, knowing that it is backed by important elements who can contribute".
The fact that the coach does not like to vary formation should not frighten those who won’t be playing: "Those who don’t play cannot be happy, it’s normal, but I don’t exclude anyone. All must keep in mind that they have my maximum respect and the maximum attention from the coach".
If Del Neri were to confirm the line-up in Dublin, Diego would once again be fielded as second striker: "I like him in that position – explained the coach-. I like the fact that in Ireland he created many opportunities, giving a splendid assist to Amauri and trying shots at goal. I don’t seem him as a winger or a central midfielder but as a second striker yes and therefore we must get used to seeing a new version of him. I do not intend playing with two strikers and a trequartista and therefore even in the championship I will be fielding a central striker, Amauri or Trezeguet and the others by their side. Iaquinta? He can be a second striker".
With regards to the championship, Del Neri did not commit himself: "I think that Inter, Milan and Roma will be fighting for the scudetto and I expect great commitment by my team to obtain the maximum result. When we are solid and the right play the equation should be good football equals good results".
Finally with regards to the transfer market, Del Neri stated "if it can improve Juventus has a duty to do so, but since the quality of the squad is already high, we must be very careful. We must recover Iaquinta, we still have Felipe Melo out ... we are a very good team. "
