Today it was all about the newcomers. The first seasonal friendly against Mezzocorona was most of all the chance for the Bianconeri fans (the 4 thousand-plus in Pinzolo and those watching at home on Juventus Channel) to see the new faces and also the stars of tomorrow in action.
Amauri was in the spotlight with five goals scored in just 41 minutes (before he had to leave the field at the start of the second half due to a cut to his forehead), but so was youngster Ekdal, and Olof Mellberg, just arrived at the camp with Grygera and sitting by the side of the pitch. Not forgetting the several Youth Team lads who were able to show their strength, like Pasquato and Esposito, who scored a goal each, and Ariaudo, who played from the start, partnering Legrottaglie at the centre of the defence.
The first game thus ended with a 7-1 win (the local team scored at the end with D’Acampo), only good for the annals, but which allowed Juve's fans to find some new idols to cheer. The next friendly, against Piacenza in Trento, on Tuesday July 15th, looks set to be much more demanding. It'll be definitely one to watch, with a few more days' training under everybody's belts, and some players who sat out this debut game coming back (specifically Trezeguet, Tiago and Marchionni).
