Trezeguet In Paris For World Cup Win 10th Anniversary
It’s a special Saturday for David Trezeguet. After training this morning in Pinzolo – following his personal schedule to recover from his left kneecap tendon problem -, the Frenchman left for Paris.
Indeed tonight France celebrate the 10th anniversary of their triumph in the 1998 World Cup, the one they played at home and won on this same day, July 12th, 10 years ago, thanks to a 3-0 drubbing of Brazil in the Final. The hero of that night was Zinedine Zidane (at Juventus at the time), who scored two goals. Apart from Trezeguet, two other French players who have had spells at Juventus in different periods were part of that winning team: Didier Deschamps and Lilian Thuram.
To celebrate the event, an exhibition match between France and a 'rest of the world' representative team will take place at the Stade de France. Trezeguet will only be watching the game, due to his injury, and will be making his return to Pinzolo and joining up with his team mates again on Sunday.
