On Sunday night at Milan's San Siro it's time for a match that has become one of the classics in August football. The Berlusconi Trophy, now in its eighteenth edition, pits Juventus against AC Milan once again; a tasty summer appetizer for one of the most prestigious duels in Italian football.
AC Milan arrive at this game against the Bianconeri after alternating positive performances and a few heavy defeats in this pre-season period: for example, Ancelotti's men did well at the TIM Trophy played in Turin, which they won, after winning on penalties both against Juventus and Inter Milan (after 2-2 and 0-0 draws respectively). Less brilliant were the games and results against Sevilla, Chelsea and Manchester City, all of which they lost (1-0, 5-0 and 1-0 respectively).
On the other hand, Juventus face this game against AC Milan straight after their 4-0 drubbing of Artmedia Bratislava in the Champions League qualifiers, but not only that: the Bianconeri's pre-season has been more than positive and, apart from the defeat against Hamburg, they got some flattering results, with away wins against Brondby, Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal and a draw at Old Trafford against reigning European champions Manchester United.
Now, having set aside international engagements for the moment, it's time to get a taste of Italian football again, in this very prestigious event at the San Siro. Kick off will be at 8.45 pm.Sauce: Juventus.com
