Mission accomplished for Italy’s Olympic National team. The decisive game with Cameroon ended in a draw and the young Azzurri won Group D. The match against the African side finished 0-0, but there was no shortage of thrills, especially due to the Uruguayan referee's decisions. Vasquez first awarded a controversial penalty against Italy (Viviano saved), then he ignored a clear one on Giovinco and finally sent off a Cameroon player for a foul on Nocerino.
Thus Giovinco continues his tournament (he was replaced near the end with Cameroon) alongside De Ceglie (who played 90 minutes today after sitting out the South Korea game), but unfortunately it's all over for Claudio Marchisio. The injury to his right calf means he'll have to return to Italy together with the other injured player Tommaso Rocchi. The midfielder will be back in Turin already on Thursday, to begin therapies with Juventus' medical staff.
