"It was all going fine up until yesterday, then the defeat against Hamburg, but most of all Knezevic and Molinaro's injuries, spoiled things a bit. It's a real shame, because it prevents the Manager from trying out different solutions at this stage".
Pavel Nedved didn't play in the second Emirates Cup game, but suffered on the bench for the two injuries occurred to his team mates.
The Czech player, with all his experience, knows how important it is to have the whole squad available at this stage, especially when there is a delicate engagement to prepare such as the Champions League qualifier. Luckily the draw avoided a match-up between Juventus and harder opponents:
"It went well, because we won't have to play against Atletico Madrid or Galatasaray. I'm also happy we avoided my team, Sparta Praha. It still won't be easy, but Artmedia are beatable". Before the qualifier, there's another prestigious engagement, the friendly against Manchester United at Old Trafford:
"Playing there will be very exciting, especially for me, as I had to watch the Champions League final against AC Milan from the stands there five years ago. This could be the last chance for me to play at Old Trafford, but I hope we can go back there further on in the season…".
