Over 5 thousand people came to the Val Chisone looking forward to Trezeguet’s and Amauri’s goals (as many of the other big stars were resting for Tuesday's game in Bratislava).
But August 23rd 2008 will be remembered as “Pasquato day” at Juventus. In what could be his last game of the season for the Bianconeri (Alessio Secco and Claudio Ranieri both confirmed he will be going to a Serie B team on loan soon), the Veneto-born striker got the satisfaction of scoring six goals against his former team mates in the Youth Team.
He scored three in the first half, playing up front with Trezeguet, and three in the second, playing alongside Amauri, who scored the other two goals of the game. Christian will certainly be remembering this afternoon for a very long time.
The match in Villar Perosa ended with an eloquent 8-0 score. Even if it wasn't a tough game, Claudio Ranieri was still able to make good use of it in view of the Bratislava game. Apart from the many first team regulars missing - who in any case trained in Vinovo before travelling to the valley -, Camoranesi, Marchisio and Trezeguet all played again after injury.
And they seem to have gotten over their physical problems. The other members of the first team who went on the pitch (Legrottaglie, Mellberg, Molinaro, Poulsen, Ekdal, Sissoko and Amauri), got 45 more minutes of play to improve their match fitness.
But it was set to be the youngsters' day in Villar and they sure didn't waste their chance to shine. Duravia (the only player on the pitch for the whole 90 minutes) played well on the right, Giuseppe Giovinco and Daud showed some very good things, and Rossi and Ariaudo were both flawless again.
Despite losing by so much (also because several Berretti players had to be employed), Massimiliano Maddaloni had reason to be pleased too, as it looks like the Youth Team will be a force to be reckoned with in the 2008/09 season again.
