With the summer friendlies now over, it's time for Juventus to dive back into their official matches. Matches that count, starting in the last week of August, which will have as many as two, and both away from home: Tuesday in Bratislava for the Champions League qualifiers second leg against Artmedia (the first ended 4-0) and Sunday night the first day of the League in Florence.
But Juve are taking one match at a time. After the Villar Perosa exhibition, the team worked this morning in Vinovo, their last training session before flying over to Slovakia on Monday morning.
Compared to the first leg in Turin, Chiellini (who'd scored the third goal) won't be available, but both Nedved (who was suspended) and the three lads back from the Olympics games, De Ceglie, Marchisio and Giovinco, are part of the team again. Ariaudo will be the only Youth Team lad to travel with the squad.
To recap, Ranieri named a 22-man squad for the Bratislava trip. Here is the list in full:
- Goalkeepers: 1 Buffon, 12 Chimenti, 13 Manninger
- Defenders: 4 Mellberg, 15 Knezevic, 21 Grygera, 28 Molinaro, 29 De Ceglie,33 Legrottaglie, 41 Ariaudo
- Midfielders: 7 Salihamidzic, 11 Nedved, 16 Camoranesi, 18 Poulsen, 19 Marchisio, 20 Giovinco, 22 Sissoko, 27 Ekdal
- Strikers: 8 Amauri, 9 Iaquinta, 10 Del Piero, 17 Trezeguet
