The Champions League can wait. After earning a place in the main draw - qualifying after the two games against Artmedia – and learning which rivals they'll be facing in the first group stage (Real Madrid, Zenit St. Petersburg and Bate Borisov), Juventus have started concentrating fully on the League.
Indeed this weekend Serie A's 2008/09 edition kicks off and the Bianconeri are immediately called upon to play in the biggest game of the first day: Sunday night's match at Fiorentina.
To prepare the game at the Franchi in the best possible way, Ranieri's team carried out another morning training session in Vinovo today. Good news regarding Pavel Nedved: after being hit hard during yesterday's session, he trained as normal with his team mates this morning.
Sissoko (who came out after being hit in the back, but who’s set not to play on Sunday anyway due to suspension) and Del Piero worked in the gym. The four injured players (Chiellini, Marchionni, Zanetti and Zebina) trained separately again and will miss the first away trip of the season.
The training schedule before the game against the Viola continues tomorrow with another morning session, and the customary Claudio Ranieri press conference on the eve of the match afterwards. The team will then depart for Tuscany in the afternoon.
