Ranieri: "The Turf Didn't Help Us"
or once, there was no home advantage for Juventus, as the Olimpico pitch was a distant relative to the beautiful turf seen here last season, and they were unable to have the better of Catania tonight. And it wasn't only because of the irregular bounce that surprised Chiellini leading to Plasmati's equalizer.
At the end of the match, Claudio Ranieri expressed his regrets for the final result: "This time it was Catania who came back from behind. We'd scored on our first chance, but we were unable to play our usual game tonight. With the pitch in this state, the lads were forced to play a lot of long balls, as we had against Zenit; we had to open up to try and score and so we let one in, again because of a bad bounce".
"But anyway, I'm pleased with the team's performance, it's just a shame we couldn't get the second in despite all the chances we had. Giovinco? He played well; he did what I expected him to do".
