As scheduled, this morning David Trezeguet underwent surgery at the Fornaca Clinic in Turin. The operation, carried out by Professors Flavio Quaglia and Giuliano Cerulli, was a resounding success.
The Frenchman underwent arthroscopy to his right knee, a procedure that proved necessary due to the injury the player suffered during last Wednesday's game against Zenit, when he damaged his kneecap hamstring.
Exams had shown a small lesion to the external meniscus and it was necessary to remove the damaged part.
During the surgery, there was work done on the left knee too, as it had also been hurting after the match against Zenit. For a correct diagnosis, it was necessary to carry out an arthroscopy, during which a post-traumatic lesion to the cartilage was found on the bone. The lesion was then repaired.
The recovery period is 120 days as estimated in the last few days, so the player should be returning on the pitch around the end of January.
