After the news he's in the running for the Golden Football award, Gigi Buffon received notice that he's been selected in the list for the 2008 FIFA World Player award too.
He will be the only player representing Italy for this prestigious honour, voted as always by the National teams' Captains and Managers.
The name of the recipient will be released in January 2009, but in early December the 23-strong list will be reduced to three names.
