Ranieri: "Let's Continue Like This, All Together!"
“United” and “tight” were the words most used by a very satisfied Claudio Ranieri to comment the win over Real Madrid tonight, coming at a delicate juncture for the team and that could prove to be a crucial starting point to pick themselves up as soon as possible.
He had words of special praise for his lads, who put their heart in it, but first of all he remembered the victims of today’s tragic road accident, when fans died on their way to the ground to cheer Juve.
Here are the Manager's comments, analyzing first of all the way the players approached the game:
"The lads showed their spirit of sacrifice, but in any case I believe we hadn't been playing as badly as people were saying. Only by remaining close together will we get back to being the team we truly are".
And then he went on to a technical comment: "We played a defensive game. Luckily we scored immediately. To keep up with Real Madrid we would've needed to be in peak condition and we are not there yet, but we had the right attitude, we remained tight and focused, we put our heart in it and so we got the result, and at last we also had a bit of luck on our side".
His comment on Del Piero's extraordinary goal: "I'm out of adjectives to describe him. Wonderful, I would say. I really liked how he worked with Amauri, they had a great understanding and the goal was brilliant"
