Blanc, Two Days With The ECA
While awaiting the two matches against Chelsea, Jean-Claude Blanc has moved ahead of time to return to breathing European air. The Juventus general manager spent two days (Monday and Tuesday) in Geneva where he took part in the first general assembly of the ECA (European Club Association), the organization which was established a year ago between the ex G14 and UEFA.
They were two days of hard work during which Blanc met with the top UEFA authorities (President Michel Platini was present) and the directors of the 95 most important clubs in Europe. The agenda consisted of three important themes for discussion: the protection of minor footballers, article number 17 of the FIFA rules (about the free release of players) and the partnership with UNESCO.
The European Club Association was founded on the 21st of January 2008 and Juventus was one of the founding clubs. The main task is that of representing the interests of European football clubs without interfering in governmental and administrative aspects of Football, which are exclusive to UEFA and FIFA.
