Primavera: Derby Under The Snow
Spring (Primavera) is back! Maddaloni’s team confirmed it has overcome the negative moment and registered the third consecutive victory, perhaps the most awaited one. The derby against Torino ended in the same triumphant way as that in first round : 3-0 at the Chisola in October, and 3-0 today at the “Nebiolo”, under the snow.
The protagonists are also the same. Yago and Esposito both scored again against the “cousins” while captain Castiglia completed the job with a goal scored by a former Torino player. Good performance by Ekdal. For Torino the presence of veteran goalkeeper Alberto Fontana (born in 1974) and former Juventus youth was not enough.
It was a success worth twice as much for Juventus. Taking advantage of the draw obtained by Empoli yesterday, Maddaloni’s team is once again 4 points on the side from Tuscany which however still have a game in hand. In case of a victory in the match against Piacenza next Saturday, the Primavera would ascertain itself of the sole leadership of Group A before the break for the Viareggio Tournament which will start on the 9th of February.
However before this the team must think of the Coppa Italia. On Wednesday at the Chisola the bianconeri will host Cagliari in a match valid for the second leg of the Coppa Italia quarter-finals. After the 3-1 success obtained in the first leg, the team only needs to control the match in order to guarantee itself a place in the semi-final.
