Trezeguet: "I Had A Good Feeling"
Over one hour played, a good goal unjustly disallowed, a penalty scored and the joy of reaching the Coppa Italia semi-final. On Wednesday night against Napoli Juventus welcomed back Trezeguet. After having played for a fragment of the match against Udinese, the Frenchman came to be a strong point of the team.
Trezeguet spoke during an interview published this morning on La Stampa. A long chat in which the striker spoke of the four months of forced absence and the ambitions for the rest of the season.
"I’m well – said Trezegol -, after the game on Wednesday I had a good feeling and this is the most important thing. I am very happy to be back with the team and of having played more as that is what I miss the most".
The operation he underwent 4 months ago is now part of the past: "Before the operation I learnt quite a bit from Ptofessor Cerulli, who then operated on me and who had already performed another similar surgery on me. It went very well and I came back even before the time expected: it will make my career longer".
"The first month was hard and when at first I couldn’t even walk it was even worse. It helped me to go first to Arezzo and then Florence, putting aside all that had to do with football for a while".
"I was happy to come back to training here, even though after 20 days of working alone it starts to get though mentally. I felt much better when I was back with my team-mates. I had made it a point in my head that I would come back as soon as possible".
A long period of absence during which Trezeguet was forced to watch Juventus from a distance, missing important appointments. Now, however, he’s back and ready to give a great contribution.
"I missed most of all the matches against Real Madrid. At home, because we were going through a negative period and I would have liked to help out and in the second leg because anyone who played at a high level knows that at the Santiago Bernabeu the match is always particular".
"Now I go ahead with the club’s perspective: improving and winning something. The championship will be hard and difficult but there are still four months to go and I hope that those of us who have recovered can give a helping hand".
After the period spent on the side-line, Trezeguet wants to make-up for the time lost and in his mind he already has a dream:
"Winning the Champions League. On Wednesday during the penalty shoot-out it felt as if we had done so: after all here there are players who never played in a Coppa Italia semi-final. I too, who am normally the calm type surprised myself by celebrating enthusiastically. It will be useful".
