Bianconeri In The Peace Cup. The Tournament Will Be Played In Spain At The End Of July
Juventus this Summer, will be participating in the prestigious international friendly tournament that is in the 4th edition of the “Peace Cup”. The tournament which takes place every 2 years has the scope of promoting peace in the world and fight poverty.
The first 3 editions (2003, 2005 and 2007) were played in South Korea. For the first time this Summer, the tournament will take place in Europe, precisely in Spain (Jerez, Madrid, Malaga, Siviglia, Huelva) between the 24th of July and the 2nd of August.
Another innovation is the inclusion of 12 teams: Juventus, Seville, Porto, Lyon, Aston Villa, Celtic, Liga de Quito, Al- Ittihad, Seongnam Ilhwa, Fenerbahce, Real Madrid and Malaga.
This evening in a prestigious hotel in Seville the draws for the four groups in which the teams will be divided took place. Juventus were represented by sports director Alessio Secco and Mauro Camoranesi accompanied by Marco Albano (marketing).
All the teams sent players and directors to represent them including many known faces in the football world such as Mijatovic (Real Madrid sports director), Vitor Baia (Porto) and Lyon player Sidney Govou.
Alessio Secco explained the reasons why Juventus feels honored to participate in the Peace Cup: "First of all we are very sensitive to social problems and also because taking part in a tournament of such a high level will be very useful for our preparation in view of the next season".
Juventus, drawn in Group A together with Seville and the Korean team of Seongnam Ilhwa, will play the inauguration match on the 24th of July against Seville. "It’s an honour – declared Mauro Camoranesi. – We are very happy to participate in this prestigious tournament and to be able to inaugurate it". The second match for the bianconeri against the Korean side will take place on the 28th of July.

Group B - Real Madrid, Al Ittihad, Liga de Quito
Group C - Malaga, Aston Villa, Celtic
Group D - Lyon, Fenerbahce, Porto
