Internationals On Holiday. Back To Pinzolo On The 16th Of July.
With the adventure in the Confederations Cup having come to a rather disappointing end, the Italian national team left South Africa an was back in Italy in the morning. The 2008/09 season for Marcello Lippi’s men has therefore come to an end.
As from today even the six bianconeri who formed part of the group can enjoy their well deserved rest. Buffon, Cannavaro, Chiellini, Legrottaglie, Camoranesi and Iaquinta are on holiday and can recover from the fatigue of an entire season and recharge their batteries in view of the new one, which on paper promises to be even longer and more stressful.
2010 is the year of the world championships in South Africa during which the azzurri will have to defend the title won in Germany. All this, without forgetting the many and tough commitments with Juventus including the championship, Champions League and Coppa Italia.
For this reason, the six azzurri will have longer holidays and will not be immediately available for Ciro Ferrara at the start of the preparation. The day for their return is fixed for the 16th of July when they will join their team mates during the summer camp in Pinzolo.
Only three bianconeri have outstanding commitments at the time being. These are De Ceglie, Marchisio and Giovinco who are busy with the Under 21 European Championship in Sweden. With the semi-finals, just one step away (on the 26th of June) and the final on the 29th, the holidays of the three azzurrini will be extended until the 18th of July.
