Under 21 Suffer Unlucky Elimination
In the absence of Marchisio (suspended) and De Ceglie (injured) the azzurrini did not manage to beat Germany and go through to the final against England in the European Championships. Giovinco and company dominated the match and created a great number of goal scoring occasions which they did not manage to fianlize.
The team had hoped to dedicate a victory to Paolo De Ceglie but the mission failed mostly due to misfortune. On the 7th minute Giovinco saw the German keeper deviating a powerful shot from outside the area. The azzurrini continued to create a number of goal scoring opportunities with luck and the German goalkeeper Neuer denying them the joy.
On the 3rd minute of the second half it was Germany who opened the score thanks to Beck and against the flow of the game. Casiraghi’s team reacted well creating even more chances but the ball never crossed the white line and at the end the best team of the night was eliminated from the tournament.
