Ferrara: "I Am Satisfied. These Kind Of Matches Are Hard"
The first match of Juventus this season ended in a 4-1 victory, a very satisfactory result especially when one considers the fact that the team has only been trianing for 6 days and that the players have had a heavy workload.
This is also the opinion of Juve coach Ciro Ferrara who seems satisfied after the seasonal debut against Cisco Roma, even though he did not sit for a single minute of the game:
"It was how we expected. It was a difficult match since we just started our training. We won the match and this pleases us but I must say well done to Cisco for a good game. We started off well managing to get through their midfield and going near to the goal".
"We could have played better close to goal, especially when some fatigue started to be felt. At this moment however it is acceptable. In the future we must try to make the ball move more and keep away from too many long balls".
There is much more work to be done until the start of the official season but motivation and good will were not missing on the pitch:
"I am satisfied. This kind of match is hard. The boys were concentrated and I am also happy with the youngsters who came in and showed their capabilities. They obviously were less tired because their training was less hard and it showed. My intention was to allow everybody to play 45 minutes but then I saw that the boys wanted to play on and so I let them play for nearly an hour".
