Platini: "Nancy And Juventus Symbolize The Union Between French And Italians"
If Juventus is known in the world it is thanks to its most prestigious son: Michele Platini who not only made history for Juventus but for world football.
The UEFA president could not forget his birthplace and most of all the club in which he made his first steps as a footballer. Joeuf is celebrating its 100th anniversary and to celebrate the event in the best of ways there is no better way then organizing a match between the two teams in which Le Roi played. Juventus and Nancy played in front of 9,000 spectators which filled the small stadium in the French city.
Michel Platini was amongst the spectators and spoke to Juventus Channel before the kick-off:
"This is the city in which I was born even though at 16 years of age I left to play for Nancy. I am happy that Nancy and Juventus will be playing this match because in a certain sense it symbolizes the union between the French and Italian people who have always co-existed here, seeing the many immigrants who came here, including my family".
