Coppa Italia Kicks-Off, Bianconeri Spectators Until December
While the start of the championship is approaching at a fast pace (kick-off on the 22nd and 23rd of August for the Serie A), last weekend the 2009/10 of the Coppa Italia Tim Cup began.
The first matches have already been played and the first verdicts emerged. These verdicts however are of little interest to Juventus at the moment since the bianconeri will enter the competition in the final 16 phase, which will be played between December and January.
Up to then, Ciro Ferrara’s team will remain at the side-lines while awaiting to know the name of the first opponent which will emerge from between 7 teams captained by Napoli and completed by Salernitana, Benevento, Cittadella, Padova, Ascoli and Crotone.
Next Sunday, after the matches of the 2nd knock-out round, the number of teams will be reduced to 4. Amongst these matches is the Campania derby between Salernitana and Benevento which will decide who will be Napoli’s opponent. Also playing are Cittadella against Padova and Ascoli against Crotone.
