Great Football On The Shores Of The Adriatic
One week from the start of the new Serie A, Italian football is about to offer the usual tasty appetizer called the Trofeo Tim. Juventus, Inter and Milan, three of the favourites for next season, will meet in the classical triangular tournament.
It is the 9th edition with the three rivals on the field. The location, however, has changed. After Trieste, Ancona, Milan and Turin (last year’s location), this year it will be the Stadio Adriatico in Pescara to host the trophy which Juventus have never won up to now.
It will be up to Ciro Ferrara, as coach, to try and attempt the assault on the trophy, this year. The team left for the Abruzzo capital in the morning with some important absentees (see call-ups), but with a great will to do well.
Buffon and company will start with the most awaited of matches. At 20:30hrs they will play the match against the nerazzurri. The usual rule stands: penalties in case of a draw. The loser will stay on the field to play against Milan while the winner will await the match against the rossoneri in the last encounter.
The whole tournament will be transmitted live on Canale 5. Juventus Channel will follow the event with a rich pre-match (as from 20:00hrs) and with the final interviews.
After the match, the bianconeri will granted the next day off to enjoy Ferragosto with their families. They will then return back to work on Sunday afternoon in Vinovo to prepare for the next match on Monday 17th against Milan for the Trofeo Berlusconi.
This will be the last friendly before the first match of the Serie A at the Turin Olimpico on Sunday 23rd August against Chievo Verona.
