Juventus Lose On Penalties
It is Aston Villa who will be taking the 4th Peace Cup home after a penalty shoot-out which saw them score one more then the bianconeri.
The first half sees the teams going to the dressing rooms on a 0-0 draw but the match is a lively one with the first few minutes dominated by the bianconeri and the Villans emerging towards the end of the first 45 minutes.
On the 1st minute Giovinco shoots from outside the area after some good footwork but the ball goes slightly wide. Seconds later it is once again the Atomic Ant to dish out a delicious long ball towards Iaquinta but the striker is off-side. Buffon then performed a good save on the 4th minute after a rather dangerous attempt by Ashley Young.

One minute later a free-kick taken by Giovinco sees Chiellini missing the header notwithstanding a good jump in the area. On the 12th minute a good Felipe Melo attempt from outside the area goes slightly wide.
The mechanisms of Juventus are becoming more and more automated with the players moving well together and this can be seen in the number of dangerous incursions into the Villans’ area.
On the 25th minute Giovinco once again showed his immense talent with a series of good balls into the area. Three minutes later Buffon performs a good save on a powerful shot by Ashley Young.

Aston Villa are compact and begin to create some problems for the Juve midfield and defence. Juventus on the other hand attempt to move forward but the moves are a bit too elaborate and rather predictable. On the 55th minute Ferrara makes a second substitution with Zanetti coming on for Marchisio.
On the 56th minute Trezeguet heads wide but the flag was up for an off-side. One minute later a good counter-attack by Juventus sees Zebina going past a defender and putting in a delicious pass into the area towards Trezeguet who misses a good chance sending the ball high.

Two minutes later Giovinco passes to Grygera with a heel and the Czech crosses towards Iaquinta who heads well but the ball goes just high. On the 68th minute a cross into the Villa area sees the keeper leaving the posts rather abruptly and a Zanetti cross going over him but ends rather far from goal. The greatest opportunity for the bianconeri however comes on the 71st minute when following a defensive error first Trezeguet and then Zanetti shoot towards goal with the American keeper saving twice. One minute a Villan free-kick sees the ball go wide.
Juventus have had the best opportunities as is the case on the 73rd minute when Iaquinta right in front of the keeper hesitates before shooting with the defence finally managing to clear the ball. One minute later, however, a Chiellini error sees a Villa shot from outside the area going wide.
On the 78th minute Camoranesi launches Zebina who shoots well but sees the ball (and his shoe) fly high. Seconds later it is a Trezeguet shot that is blocked by the goalkeeper. Juventus are pressing down on the accelerator and are slowly coming back to dominating the game. The 87th minute sees a Giovinco free-kick go high over the bar. Two minutes later Del Piero comes on for Camoranesi and immediately goes to take a free-kick following a foul on Giovinco but the ball goes high over the bar. Zebina has another good opportunity after a good run and a ball received from Del Piero. The French defender however has shown to be in great physical condition.
After 90 minutes the match goes to extra-time. Amauri comes on for Giovinco who had a good game. Juventus immediately on the attack with a cross by Grygera going wide. A corner taken well by Del Piero is cleared by the defence on the 93rd minute. On the 100th minute it Chiellini who saves well inside the area in what could have been a really dangerous chance for the Villans. A reaction by the bianconeri leads to Amauri winning a corner but the defence of the English team manages to clear. On the 102nd minute Iaquinta heads into the center of the area where there is Trezeguet who with an over-head kick sees the keeper collecting the ball with some difficulty.
On the 103rd minute it is Re-Cocker who sees an attempt for the Villans go wide. One minute later the bianconeri’s hearts miss a beat as a Villa shot goes inches wide and less then a minute later the ball is headed high over the bar by the Villans. The first half of the extra time also sees the score unchanged.
On the 106th minute a Del Piero corner forces the goalkeeper to punch away. Fatigue begins to leave its mark, however Juventus continue to try to create goal opportunities. On the 111th minute Iaquinta tries to hit the ball from an impossible position. Four minutes later, however it is Villa who have a golden goal opportunity.
