Off To Pescara with Some Missing Players, But De Ceglie Returns
The day after the international matches, which saw 11 bianconeri on the field, the group got back to work in Vinovo in an afternoon session. It was a sort of fine-tuning session in view of the tournament to be played tomorrow, that is the Trofeo Tim in Pescara against Inter and Milan.
The session saw the bianconeri who just returned to base in an unwinding session, apart from Grygera and Iaquinta who worked with the group missing out only on the mini-match at the end which saw the participation of an improving Diego.
The many close matches and the reluctance to risk a week before the start of the championship, will force Ferrara and his staff to depart with an incomplete group.
In the list of unavailable players which already included Diego, Zebina, Giovinco, and Almiron (apart from Sissoko) were added the names of Camoranesi, Marchisio, Del Piero and Trezeguet.
The Juventus medical staff published a medical bulletin with regards to their conditions:
Camoranesi: the clinical tests carried out today showed a blow to the right ankle.
Marchisio: slight distortion to the right ankle
Del Piero: hasn’t yet recovered from the blow suffered during the friendly match at Villar Perosa.
Trezeguet: metatarsalgia to the right foot.
Their conditions will be verified tomorrow morning at the end of the session in Vinovo, while their mates are on their way to Pescara. The group will be made up of 23 players of which Ariaudo will also form part after having returned from Rome following the away match in Russia with the Under 21 squad. He will join the team directly in Pescara.
De Ceglie is back for the first time after the injury suffered during the Under 21 European Cup. Besides Marrone and Yago – who have constantly part of the senior squad – 4 other Primavera have been called up.
Below is the complete list of 23 players:
Goalkeepers: Buffon, Chimenti, Manninger
Defenders: Ariaudo, Caceres, Cannavaro, Chiellini, De Ceglie, Grygera, Legrottaglie, Molinaro, Alcibiade, De Paola
Midfielders: Felipe Melo, Poulsen, Salihamidzic, Tiago, Marrone
Attackers: Amauri, Iaquinta, Immobile, Yago, Giuseppe Giovinco
