Coach Antonio Conte: Former Juve Captain
On Saturday in Bergamo there will be no former players on the field but on the Atalanta bench there will be Antonio Conte, a pillar of the Juventus midfield from 1991/92 to 2003/04. With Juventus Conte won 5 scudetti, 4 Italian Super Cups, a Champions League, an Intercontinental Cup, a UEFA Cup, a Coppa Italia and a European Super Cup.
The fact that there will not be any former players on one side or the other does not mean that there aren’t any players who wore both jerseys in the history of the two clubs. In fact there are no less than 69 players who played for Juventus and Atalanta, which team in the 1980s was an important reservoir of players who marked the fortune of great teams, amongst which and in particular is Juventus.
It is enough to mention a few names like Scirea, Cabrini and Prandelli. Even in the latter years important Juventus players wore both jerseys. Examples of this are Montero, Tacchinardi, Inzaghi, Porrini and Carrera.
