Diego: "We Must Go On Like This"
It is a championship which continues to fluctuate especially in the upper part of the table. In a matter of one week the points margin between Juventus and leaders Inter changed from 4 to 7 before going down to 5 during the last match day. Thanks to the victory in Bergamo and the draw of the nerazzurri against Roma, the bianconeri reduced the margin right before the break.
The point margin is still rather big but all at Juventus want to cancel it as soon as possible. After the international parenthesis, the championship will continue in full force in view of the direct encounter on the 5th of December. Before, Ferrara’s team will be playing against Udinese and Cagliari, two matches which they must win in order to get to the first seasonal duel with the nerazzurri in the best condition.
Diego has sounded the charge. The Brazilian, who got back to scoring in Bergamo, is ready to recharge his batteries during the break in order to be able to confirm himself on the return:
"After having won back two points things are better – he declared during a meeting in Milan to promote the rugby match between Italy and New Zealand – and before the direct encounter we must try to draw even nearer. In order to do this, we must think of our work and try to continue in this manner. Scudetto or Champions League you ask? Our objective is to continue winning independently from the competition we will be playing in".
If Juve is on the road to recovery, Diego has part of the merit. In the last few matches, the South American star showed all his qualities helping the team to make a leap in quality:
"I am well but what counts is that the team is well. When the whole team is doing well even the single players start to excel and this is independent of the tactics used".
Now the team will have two weeks during which to work calmly and return to their maximum condition after the break. When the break is over, Juventus will also be able to count on Alessandro Del Piero. The captain, who turned 35 yesterday, is ready to get back to action and finally we will be able to see him in a duet with Diego:
"I am happy that Del Piero can return to playing. With him we will have an extra weapon to use. You ask who will take the free0kicks, if him or me? That is not important. What counts is scoring".
Finally a word about the national team, which is currently very much in fashion due to the championship break and the World Cup which is drawing near. Diego has not abandoned his dream of playing in South Africa. .
"I formed part of the Brazilian national team for a long time and one of my objectives is to return. To do so there is only one way : doing well with Juventus".
