Ferrara: "Ready To Restart"
The Championship is restarting and Juventus finds Alessandro Del Piero and Momo Sissoko again, two fundamental recoveries for the next challenges, also in consideration of the accident occurred to Trezeguet.
"Of course I’m sorry for David – Ferrara underlines during the usual press conference on the match’s eve – but we have to think about only of tomorrow match and not to injured players, we cannot afford that. In this moment, as forwarders we have Del Piero and Amauri, but this does not affect module and formation choices".
The Captain return obviously takes the bench, but there are many different items the trainer talked about.
Del Piero conditions
"We’ll make an overall evaluation of his conditions. Now, he worked well without interrupting his training in fifteen days, but he comes from a long period, after all, during which he did not play and I have to keep in mind also this aspect".
His position in the new module
"Del Piero is a second striker who likes to meet the game and start off from outside, to then go to the centre. He prefers a specific pitch area, remaining anyway a striker. I won’t clearly say how we will play tomorrow, but if we’ll go on with the same module of the last matches, being a left external among playmakers is a position that Alessandro can well cover, of course with different characteristics".
"But we cannot expect he can cover the complete band, and therefore we’ll find a right balance. But like we played in the last matches anyway, I don’t think that Giovinco has such defensive characteristics. Alessandro Diego and Camoranesi can surely play together".
Alex importance
"Having Del Piero at our disposal is a great advantage, for the strength he passes on to the group and for what he can do on the pitch. We missed him in this period, but who played for him well behaved. The respect between us goes beyond what my choices will be from now on".
"Respecting roles is good for the whole ambience, understanding that the Captain is a very important reference point for me and for the team. I know very well what his role is and how important his figure is, but I don’t believe this should represent a weight to me. I know you are going to ask me about him every day and I know what to answer".
Marchisio
"I understand that during the functional recovering of the knee there are moments in which you feel better and others in which you feel weaker. He worked a lot in these days and he feels a little tired, right because he comes from a meniscus injury".
Ready to restart
"The stop was useful to recover some players and some we did. Restarting is never easy, but players who stayed here worked well. During last training sessions I saw great attention and intensity and this gives me hope for Sunday match. We are running after who is ahead and we must win to shorten distances".
Udinese, important absences
"Udinese is, by culture, a team able to play also suffering of important absences, and these should not be concerned. Who will play for Pepe, Di Natale, Sanchez will do his best and we have great respect for our opponents".
A Juve for away matches?
"Two home matches vs. Bologna and Napoli made us slow down our run and this could affect judging our track to the Olimpico. But in the last matches we scored twelve goals, therefore this is a team ready to play, at home as well as away. We are sure that the Olimpico can be a weapon more".
Ireland elimination
"Suffering such a goal and being eliminated is tough, very tough. It’s a pity for Trapattoni and for the episode, but I don’t think the match should be repeated. This would create a too strong precedent. You have to accept the referee’s evident mistake and we must not put our head in the sand".
"Pazzini vs. the Netherland scored with his hand and then exulted, in a restrained way, but he exulted. Of course it was a different situation, but we must not hide ourselves: if an Italian player, during a Champions League final scores by a hand, I’m sure nobody would say the game should be replayed…".
