
Juventus won 9 times away against Cagliari in championship matches. One particularity is that the bianconeri never managed to beat the sardi by more than 1 goal and in 7 different circumstances the result was 1-0.
The first time was on the 9th March 1969 and the goal scorer was Pietro Anastasi who thus won the duel with Gigi Riva, his partner in the national team on the night that some them as protagonists and decisive strikers in the final against Yugoslavia which crowned them European champions in 1968.
In 1973 Alatfini was the match-winner, taking advantage of a mistake made by Comunardo Niccolai, a defender sadly known for the quantity and the spectacular sort of own-goals committed. In 1975-76 it is Bobo Gori who signed the classical former player revenge, having played before for Cagliari winning the championship in 1970.
In 1982, a year in which Juventus won the scudetto and Italy the World Cup, the man of the match was Tardelli thanks to a goal scored on the 27th minute. A decade later, in 1994, in a season which saw the rossoblu eliminate Juventus from the UEFA Cup, the bianconeri won at the Sant’Elia thanks to a penalty scored by Fabrizio Ravanelli.
In 1999-2000 Cagliari was the first away match for Ancelotti’s Juventus in the championship. The cover is all for Antonio Conte. Finally, last season, it was a goal by Amauri after 39 minutes and a miraculous save by Alex Manninger that brought home the 3 points.
