All About Bari-Juventus
Juventus.com brings to you all the necessary information to follow this evening’s match (20:45hrs) against Bari. Ventura’s team is fresh from three victories at the San Nicola.
BARI AT HOME
It is mostly in their home matches that Bari managed to build the positive situation they are in. Out of the 21 points gathered up to now – an excellent score for a freshly promoted team – 14 were won in home matches as the result of 4 victories, 2 draws and a 1 defeat.
The team scored 9 goals and conceded only 3 (in contrast to the 11 conceded in away matches). The team has not only shown a positive progress but is improving continuously, as can be seen from the last 3 matches which saw them win 9 points.
The home matches of Ventura’s team began with a 0-0 draw against Bologna in the second match day, notwithstanding a long siege which drove the hosts into a situation by which it was unable to create a single opportunity against the guests e post defended by Gillet. The next match saw the hosts win by 4-1 against Atalanta witn no less then 11 clear goal opportunities in the 90 minutes.
The week after, the Pugliesi suffered their only defeat, losing 1-0 against Cagliari. Another 0-0 was the result against Catania before a winning streak which is of absolute importance: 2-0 against Lazio in the 9th match day, 1-0 against Livorno and finally 2-1 after a comeback against Siena with Malesani as debut coach and goals by Andrea Masiello (12 minutes from full-time) and Greco during stoppage time.
VENTURA’S SQUAD
Ventura’s Bari is a real goal cooperative. Up to now 11 players managed to score. Barreto is the leader with 3 goals, followed by Ranocchia and Allegretti with 2. There is quite a group of players with one goal each: Masiello, Almiron, Alvarez, Donati, Rivas, Greco, Kutuzov and Meggiorini.
The squad includes 12 foreign players: Belgian goalkeeper Jean-François Gillet, a veteran of the team; Mali player Souleymane Diamoutene, who could make his seasonal debut against Juventus; Argentines Almiron, a former bianconero, Mariano Martin Donda (not yet utilized by Ventura), Emanuel Benito Rivas; Hinduras national Alvarez; Frenchman Perdro Kamata; Hungarian national Vladimir Koman; Croatian Ivan Rajcic; Brazilian Barreto; Spaniard Yago, one of the priced pieces of our Primavera and on loan at Bari; and Byelorussian Vitalii Kutuzov.
The most faithful of the team, who have not yet missed a single match out of the 15 played up to now in the championship are Gillet, Bonucci, Masiello and Ranocchia (who is suspended for today’s match following the red card received against Napoli): it is on the consistency and strength of the defence that Bari is basing its current identity.
PREVIOUS MATCHES
12 victories, 11 draws and 5 defeats is the balance of Juventus in Bari when it comes to championship matches. The only result which has been repeated is the 0-1, a result which occurred 5 times. The series began on the 8th November 1931 with the decisive goal scored by Munerati 5 minutes from the final whistle.
The second 1-0 victory was on the 30th March 1947: Korostelev decided the match with a goal scored 7 minutes from the half-time. Another dying minutes victory occurred in 1961: the goal scorer which won the team the 2 points was John Charles.
The next is the match played during the 1998/99 season: even in this case the bianconeri managed to beat their opponents in the dying minutes. It was Antonio Conte who scored. For him, born in Lecce, it was an even greater satisfaction, even though it was the current Atalanta coach who won Bari promotion to the Serie A during an exciting 2008/09 season.
Finally, the last Juve victory came in 2001.Once again Juventus won in the final minutes of the match. The goal was an extraordinary finish by Alessandro Del Piero, an invention dedicated to his father who died a few days before.

How is it possible to leave giovinco out of the game . Juventus look like a bunch of amateurs . Ferrara in the future might be a good coach but I am afraid it was too early for him to coach a team like Juventus . I also think that players paid that kind of money should give thier heart out to their team , not play like if they don't care . Change the coach or Juve won't make it to European Champions League next season .
change ciro ferara with Guus Hiddink!!!!!
