INTER IN AWAY MATCHES
5 victories and a defeat: this is Inter’s balance in away matches during which it has not ended, up to now, a single match at half measures and this also another reason for the happy situation of the team in the table. The most significant bit of data, however, is represented by the defnsive strength: while at the San Siro the nerazzurri suffered 8 goals, away from home Julio Cesar was only beaten 3 times.
Inter’s journey away from home began in reality at the Meazza, because the first of the away matches saw Mourinho’s team playing in the derby against Milan. The 4-0 final score was the resukt of 5 goal opportunities created, while the opponents never really managed to go close to goal.
The second victory came in Cagliari: the milanesi suffer, are one goal down, risk the 2-0 and then thanks to Milito manage to equalize and beat the sardi.
The third match was not positive. Against Samdoria a clearance gone wrong by Santon gave the blucerchiati the opportunity for victory: Pazzini took the chance and the final score was 1-0 for the liguri.
Twenty days later it is a totally different story in the same stadium. The 5-0 against Genoa is a show of a noticable strength and the match was over in the first half which ended 3-0 for Stankovic and friends.
The 2-0 against Livorno was far from brilliant and matured in the second half after in the first 45 minutes Mourinho’s team simply controlled the situation without any real bit of action worth noting.
In the most recent away match, in Bologna, a brillian 3-1 with goals by Milito, Balotelli and Cambiasso with an interval for a momenatry equalizer by Zalayeta, as a result of the only chance created by the emiliani.
Inter are fresh from the 1-0 victory in San Siro against Fiorentina. A single goal, scored 5 minutes from the final whistle from a penalty, however the match was dominated by the nerazzurri with 23 attempts 9 of which at goal and 9 golden opportunities which could have brought an earlier end to the match.

HISTORICAL STATISTICS
52 victories, 14 draws and 10 defeats. These are the stats of the previous encounters between Juventus and Inter in championship matches played in Turin and which favour the bianconeri. It is a difference which is hardly ever so clear cut against inferior teams, with the goal difference making it even more evident: 137 against 60.
The most typical result is 1-0, which occurred 17 times. Next is the 2-0 result (10 times), 2-1 (6 times), 3-2 (5 times), 3-0 and 3-1 (3 times), 4-1 and 4-2 (twice). On 4 occasions the result which emereged was never repeated in other matches throughout history.
On the 17th May 1942, Juventus beat Inter 4-0 thanks to goals by Sentimenti III, Bellini (twice) and Albanian national Lustha.
Another goal-scoring frenzy of identical proportions was that on the 3rd March 1957. The bianconeri triumphed with a 5-1 win, thanks to goals by Umberto Colombo, a momentary equalizer by Rebizzi from a penalty, and a poker of goals scored by Conti, Oppezzo, Montico and Robotti from a penalty.
With a 4 goal difference, but with a more tennis-like score, was the 6-2 victory in 1932. The surprising result saw Inter coming back to equalize on the 53rd minute from 2-0 down but conceding another 4 goals in the last half hour. The Juventus scorers were: Maglio (two goals), Ferrari, Munerati, Orsi and Vecchina.
Finally comes the unforgettable 9-1 of Juventus over Inter in the 1960-61 championship: Inter in a dispute with the Federation fielded the Youth team featuring the debut of Sandro Mazzola. His was the only goal from the 11 metres. The front page is all for Omar Sivori who with 6 goals in one match established the record of the Italian championship.
