Super Immobile, Primavera Through To Quarter-Finals
It was again Ciro Immobile. A hat-trick by the Primavera striker saw the team through to the quarter-finals of the 62nd edition of the Viareggio Cup. After Legia Warsaw, Vicenza and Livorno, Bruni’s team beat Cesena 3-1.
The victory at San Giuliano Terme is double in value since it is the first match on a knock-out basis. Having ended the first half with a one goal lead, the bianconeri were equalized at the start of the second half, before striking twice thanks to two goals by Immobile (the third from a penalty), who has confirmed himself as a protagonist and has 6 goals in the top-scorer list.
Juventus, therefore, are through to the quarter-finals and tonight the draws which will determine the next opponents will be made. Also tonight, the pairing for semi-finals on Saturday will be known.
Juventus therefore qualified for the quarter-finals and will be meeting Sassuolo. This is the outcome of the draws held at the end of the last match. In case of victory, the bianconeri will be playing against Palermo and Atalanta in the semi-finals. On the other side of the table, the two quarter-finals are: Fiorentina-Empoli and Torino-Serie D Representatives.
