Viareggio: Again Amongst The Top 4!
Pokerissimo Primavera. Bruni’s team continued with its quick match in the 62nd edition of the Viareggio Cup and made it through to the semi-finals. In Quarrata, under rain and snow, the bianocneri beat Sassuolo 1-0 and on Saturday will play in the semi-finals against Atalanta who beat Italian champions Palermo 1-0 after extra-time.
After Legia Warsaw, Vicenza and Livorno in the group stage and Cesena in the final 16, the bianconeri added Sassuolo to their list of victims. The emiliani were beaten for the second time this season after the match played at the Chisola in October with the same score and the same protagonist: Luca Belcastro, scorer of the match winner and his fourth goal of the tournament.
On Saturday the team will return to the field against Atalanta in search of another final. The dream of a repeat performance goes on – after last year’s success – as well as the dream of the 7th Coppa Carnevale title.
