"We worked a lot in the last few days and we are on schedule. The players must charge up their physique with important work this period in order to see the results in the future»" Luigi Del Neri spoke on the eve of the first friendly match of the summer, which Juventus will play tomorrow in Pinzolo against a team from Val Rendena.
For his absolute first match on the Juve bench, the coach expects: "to see all we have been doing in the last few days, on the field even though the players will be inevitably conditioned by the work load".
Del Neri is passing on his image and look to Juve: "I want maximum commitment from everyone, respect for the roles and our supporters who are fantastic and who I thank for the affection they showed me and my family. We must have a team mentality. The player is born “single” and it is up to the coach the build the team. Seeing that this is a team sport, one must work with each department and with his mates. It is needless to say that a quality player within the group can make a difference".
With regards to quality players, the coach up to now had fielded Diego as second striker: "He must be able to move freely on the filed with few tactical duties. I think he is more of a striker then a midfielder. A comparison to Cassano? He reminds me more of Doni, to mention a player I coached, even though Cristiano is more a striker".

"Diego is very clever when he has space and can attack the goal from the front. He seemed to have a great will to do well and he can have space just like all the others. I saw the lads as being very motivated just like Trezeguet and other players who are the subject of transfer rumours. These do not affect me and I am monitoring everyone".
Asked whether the Juve squad needs ulterior reinforcements, the coach said: "We signed various players which were needed and many internationals are still missing. The squad will be extended in those departments which are lacking, but when it comes to spending I’d rather keep the players we have because they are a patrimony which we do not want to lose. The people love us and this is important. We want to pay them back by creating a team which is heartfelt and which fights and sweats. We want Juve to be a football club".
With regards to the objectives, Del Neri underlined that what is important is to "finding the mentality to fight. At that point there are no results which we cannot achieve. We must have objectives and create a team that has an identity and an important outcome. It is enough to say Andrea Agnelli to understand what we represent. We all have great faith in the president, the management and we must have the same mentality on the field".
Finally a thought about the World Cup and the Italian national team: "I am happy that the final will be played between two European teams that gather great players in groups which apply themselves very much. This is the future of football. We used to say that European football is on the decline but instead it came out on top. I hope that this can also happen to Italy soon. I think we should thank Lippi for what he has done and for the lustre he gave the national team and send the best wishes to Prandelli so that can do a great job and bring ahead his ideas".
