Del Neri: "Let’s Play A Championship Like Juve Is Able To"
Only one day from the beginning of Championship 2010-2011 and Gigi Del Neri is ready, and his Juve too. First obstacle is Bari, whose trainer Mr. Ventura, when he saw the calendar, said he was happy to face immediately Juventus which, unlike his team, comes from a tiring summer:
"I think Juventus has the right characteristics in running and in quality – Del Neri says – and both are important characteristics. We will go on the pitch with great respect for Bari, which last year played a good championship and which plays with great intensity and rapidity. Anyway, they will find a different Juventus from the one they faced in the past ".
Krasic and Aquilani won’t be on the pitch from the start "because I’d rather trust other players’ experience, who always trained with the group. I’ll have Marchisio back and Felipe Melo is doing well", while the latest arrival in order of time will be on the pitch:
"Considering that Amauri and Iaquinta are injured, Quagliarella must play. Martinez can be used as a forward, but only on some occasions, he plays on the outside". Concerning Quagliarella, Del Neri says: "he is a player who can integrate well in our attack game. At this purpose I want to underline how good Marotta and the Club did on the market".
Someone makes him notice that some players arrived only in the very last days, and he’s asked if he would have not preferred to have them since the beginning: "It was not easy to build this team before – he answers – it’s been important that the club did these operations in the right times to suit also economically speaking".
After a question on his Championship debut on Juventus bench ("The emotion is always there, especially when you lead such a team"), Del Neri answers to those asking if Inter is still ahead and what is Juventus target:
"Inter is still the team to beat, they’ve got more experience as a group, but many teams are equipping to do well. Ibra to Milan? He’s got a strong name, but a player makes a difference only when he plays in a context helping and stimulating him. Our target? It’s difficult to tell right now, what we surely want is to play a Championship like Juventus is able to".
