"Hopeful For The Future"
Nobody was used to beginning the season with a defeat, in fact Juventus had not done so since 1982. After the defeat against Bari there is a great will to come back and to start off again after the break.
As a testimony to this are the words of the two senators of the group, Alessandro Del Piero and Giorgio Chiellini who spoke by means of their personal websites.
On www.alessandrodelpiero.com, the captain commented with these words with regards to the match at the San Nicola: "We started off badly and this obviously angered me a lot but at the start of the season it is right to give the right weight to the results and analyze them on a performance level, even though unsatisfactory. After the match we were all rather disappointed even though I would not like this to be interpreted as a sort of negative appendix to last season".
Del Piero does not want to look at the past but aim solely at the future: "We lost, we made mistakes, we paid for the last intense weeks but we have the potential to start off again after the break and correct the many things that did not work, just like we must hold on to what we did well. Soon our understanding on the field will also improve and seeing the many new players this is normal. These are not alibis but only considerations on the match we lost".
The only reference made to the past by the captain was by citing one of the coaches of last season: "I would like to take the opportunity to send my regards to the new coach of Japan, Alberto Zaccheroni and the best of luck to him for the new challenge!"
This, on the other hand, is the thought of the defender published on www.giorgiochiellini.com: "Each one of us hoped for a different start, but this must not obscure what we have done up to now and the progress shown in the last matches. We all knew that time was needed to work and consolidate the new structure of the team but we are absolutely hopeful for the future".
