Del Piero: "We Can And Must Improve Further"
«"We tried to win, starting the match well but getting lost during the first half. Then we managed to recover and overcome our difficulties and at the end of the day we did sort of throw away the match and even though Sampdoria deserved the draw, we could have brought home the three points".
Alessandro Del Piero’s evaluation of the match is sober nad direct. The captain did not hide his disappointment for the victory that escaped the team and insisted on the necessity for the team to improve on various aspects:
"We have great room for improvement. We must be more concrete in the attack and more orderly and careful in the defence. Today, however we played a better match then the one in Bari and therefore there was a step forward".
The results of the second match day confirm how well balanced the championship is: "For years we have been saying that there are no easy teams anymore and this proves it. Even the so called “small teams” are very well organized and if they are not faced in the right manner may create great difficulties. For this reason every match must be played “till death” if one wants to bring home the desired result".
