Test In Vinovo With Samp In Mind
It was far from being a light session before the break. Saturday was a day of intense work for the team. Before allowing the team 2 days of rest (return to work on Tuesday), Del Neri organized a friendly match at the Juventus Center with a team of amateurs from Liguria (Eccellenza category) namely Fontanabuona as opponents.
The match was divided into 3 parts and followed by Andrea Agnelli, seated on the bench close to Luigi Del Neri. It was an important opportunity for the coach to test the group’s conditions – still in the absence of the internationals -, 8 days before the match against Sampdoria.
Particular attention was given to Rinaudo, Aquilani and Iaquinta. The former Napoli defender stayed on the field for the whole match, the only player to do so apart from Lanzafame. The midfielder from Rome did well while the attacker came back with two goals.
All the bianconeri available played part of the match. Traoré had a personalized session. The team was present on the filed with the following starting 11: Manninger in goal, Grygera, Legrottaglie, Rinaudo and De Ceglie in defence, Spinazzola, Aquilani, Felipe Melo and Lanzafame in midfield, Del Piero and Iaquinta as strikers.
The match ended on a 6-1 score. After the 2 goals scored by Iaquinta, the other goals were scored by Felipe Melo, Lanzafame and Primavera players Ruggiero and Buchel.
After the test, Del Neri granted the team 2 days of rest. The team will return to training on Tuesday, still in the absence of the internationals (who are still busy with the Euro 2012 qualifiers). Upon return the team will begin preparing fulltime for the match on Sunday 12th September against Sampdoria.
