Buffon: Best Goalkeeper Of The Decade According To IFFHS
While awaiting his return to the field after the back operation last August, Gigi Buffon is still a subject of discussion. In the last few days he received yet another award in his incredible career.
The IFFHS (Interntaional Foundations for Football History and Statistics) declared him as being the best goalkeeper in the world in the last decade. In the time between 2001 – the year in which he joined Juventus – and 2009, Gigi was voted as the best amongst all number ones beating Spaniard Iker Casillas of Real Madrid and Czech keeper Peter Cech of Chelsea.
For Buffon it is yet another acknowledgment received from the IFFHS. A few months ago, in January, the Juventus goalkeeper was voted best goalkeeper of all times.
