Juventus-Chievo will be the match to officially open the bianconeri’s 2009/10 championship. At the Olimpico, Ciro Ferrara’s team will meet that of Mimmo Di Carlo which a few months ago (the beginning of April) obtained an incredible 3-3 at the Olimpico.
This was the first historical draw of the Veneti in Turin. Statistics in fact show 5 Juventus victories out of six encounters in Turin. Amongst these, is one which is directly linked to the match on Sunday.
It was the 2005/06 season. Just like at present it was the tournament which preceded the World Cup and the first match saw the encounter between the bianconeri and the gialloblu at the Stadio Delle Alpi. The date was the 28th of August and just like this time the match was played in the evening. At the end of a one-sided match Juventus managed to win by 1-0 thanks to a goal by Trezeguet on the 38th minute of the first half.
This was the first victory in the championship for the bianconeri with Fabio Capello as coach and which saw the bianconeri winning their 29th scudetto on the field which was later revoked. It was also the last victory at home against the gialloblu.
