At the end of the training session on the eve of the match, Ciro Ferrara announced the list of players called-up for the match on Sunday afternoon against Catania, the last championship match before the Christmas break. Amongst the midfielders, besides the injured Camoranesi, Christian Poulsen is also missing due to suspension, but Felipe Melo is back after having suffered a one day suspension against Bari.
