Primavera, Empoli Beaten With Ardour

The Primavera returned with another three points and a greater dose of charge from the last away match of 2009. Winning in Empoli is never an easy feat and doing so with one man less for a full half is even rarer.

Bruni’s team managed this, by winning 2-1 at the end of a difficult match. Immobile returned to scoring and opened the match from a penalty in the first half. At the start of the second half a bit of everything occurred.

First the bianconeri were denied a penalty and on the turn of action Alcibiade committed a foul and was shown the red card. A few instants later Empoli drew, once again from the penalty spot. With one man less, the bianconeri believed in the feat and managed to score thanks to a great personal effort by Crivello: 1-2 and three more golden points.

To end the year in the best of manners, the Primavera has still two home commitments. The first is a championship tie on Saturday against Piacenza. The other is a Coppa Italia clash, the return against Genoa (2-0 victory in the first leg) on the 19th December.
