New Stadium: Down To Work!
2011 is still far but after the presentation held last week (see footage) the want for the new stadium by the fans is on the increase.
As announced by Jean-Claude Blanc last week, the first phase is already underway: the demolition of the stands of the old Delle Alpi to make room for the construction of the new stadium.
In fact, after the first days of work, the seats have been removed and part of the first tier has been demolished, precisely the East side and the two ends.
According to the work schedule the first phase should be over by February 2009. This phase will include the demolition of the first two tiers as well as excavation works, ground movement and the demolition of part of the side-slopes.
Right after the second phase will commence : the demolition of the third tier and main structure. Such works, which require new permits, will last 76 days. In the meantime, by the end of Spring 2009 the old stands will be completely demolished and the area will be available for the construction of the new stadium.
