With regards to the controversy about the national teams which appeared in the press, Amauri made the following declaration:
"With regards to the declarations attributed me on some Italian and Brazilian media I would like to clarify that I only said that it would be impossible for me to play for the Italian national team during the coming friendly between Italy and brazil. All other references to the Brazilian or Italian national teams is absolutely unfounded".
"My only thought, at the moment is to train and give the maximum for Juventus. I consider the episode definitely closed and I do not intend to speak again on this argument".
