Trofeo TIM: An “Antipasto” Of Great Football
Once again the three teams with most titles in Italy will be offering the public a taste of the championship in the Trofeo TIM.
Juventus, Inter and Milan will be playing against each other on Friday night in the 10th edition of the Trofeo TIM which has become an annual appointment not to be missed. The formula is the usual one: 3 matches of 45 minutes each. In case of a draw the match will be decided by penalties.
A win in the regular time earns the winners 3 points while 2 points and 1 point will be given to the respective teams for a victory and defeat after penalties. In case of a draw at the end of the tournament, the trophy will be given to the team which won most direct encounters.
The formula is the same but the location is different: after Trieste, Ancona, Milan, Turin and Pescara, this time it will be Bari to host the tournament at the Stadio San Nicola. The first match will be the most awaited one: Juventus and Inter will enter the field at 20:45hrs. The loser will stay on and play against Milan while the winner will be playing against the rossoneri in the last match.
The past tournaments see Inter in the lead with 5 victories, Milan with 3 and Juventus with 1. The only Juventus victory came last season at the Adriatico stadium in Pescara: Juve beat Inter after penalties after the 1-1 result at the end of the 45 minutes thanks to goals by Thiago Motta and Amauri and beat Milan 2-0 thanks to goals by Amauri and Iaquinta.
The Trofeo TIM will be aired live on Canale 5 with Juventus Channel following the event with a rich pre-match (links as from 20:15hrs) and the final interviews.
